This is an active learning assignment for a lower-division American Government course where the students serve as delegates in a “Convention of the States” to amend the US Constitution. Each “state” must compose several amendments to the Constitution and then present one amendment to the group. The class then votes on the submitted amendments. Three files are included: the worksheet for proposed amendments, a submission sheet for amendment to be submitted for a vote, a brief outline of the constitution, voting signs, and a powerpoint to be used to structure the debate for proposed amendments.
