APSA's Political Science Education Section newsletter
Political Science Educator is the newsletter for the Political Science Education Section of the American Political Science Association. For three decades the PSE has served as a space for political scientists to engage in higher education discussion, share classroom activities, resources, and emerging research, highlight teaching professional development opportunities and best practices, and keep up with the latest trends in social science education. Our diverse community includes high school educators, PhD candidates, college librarians, community college faculty, teaching and learning administrators, research faculty, and former APSA Presidents. APSA Educate began re-publishing the newsletter in 2020. The Political Science Educator's complete archive can be viewed on the APSA connect teaching civic engagement portal.
While not peer-reviewed, the Political Science Educator currently operates on a edited model. Submission does not guarantee publication but our faculty editors Colin Brown (Northeastern) and Matt Evans (Northwest Arkansas Community College) offer collegial feedback and accept revisions to any work submitted but not featured. Please aim for 250 to 500 words for any announcements, events, and call for materials. Please limit your essays, reviews and reflections to 1.5k words. Please send any article submissions or announcements for future newsletters to the editors at editor.pse.newsletter@gmail.com. Please include "PS Educator submission" in the subject line of your email, and include a short, two-sentence biographical statement. Research notes, reviews, and reflections are all welcome. Research notes in this newsletter should be considered as working papers and have not undergone peer review. Submission deadline is April 15 for the Summer/Fall newsletter, and December 15 for the Winter/Spring newsletter. Contributions may be as brief as 200–500 hundred words, but should not exceed 1500 words. Please use APSA citation style for in-text citations and a list of references at the end of your submission. Research notes, reviews, and reflections should include in-text citations for relevant academic literature. The editors reserve the right to make minor corrections for style, clarity, readability, grammar, spelling, or factual errors.
