Call for Materials: “Teaching the 2020 U.S. Election”

The 2020 U.S. election presents unique challenges and opportunities for political science students and educators. In response, the American Political Science Association is seeking teaching resources focused on the 2020 U.S. election, the presidential transition, and the incoming Biden-Harris administration to be featured on Educate – APSA’s new teaching resource library. 

If you are discussing the election with your students, please consider sharing your teaching materials with your colleagues by uploading them to APSA Educate.

Teaching materials might include activities, assignments, simulations, reading lists, discussion questions, syllabi, lecture slides, and more that address any element of the election or the presidential transition.  

We hope to receive resources for courses across all sub-fields of political science and that engage with the election across a range of issues, from political behavior and institutions to identity and politics, and key policy debates  

  • Materials may also address topics around media literacy, civic engagement, and best practices for developing classroom community and supporting productive dialogue around difficult political issues.  
  • Materials addressing these topics will be featured on the Educate and APSA homepages and highlighted via a campaign on APSA’s social media accounts.

To share your materials, click the green “submit” button on the top of Educate’s homepage. You can also find a direct link to the 1-page upload form here. Educate will accept contributions to be featured in the “Teaching the 2020 U.S. Election.” collection through December 31, 2020.
