Introduction to Congress Syllabus with Associated Podcast

This is the syllabus I used in my undergraduate course at CUNY in autumn 2022. The readings very much aimed to give students the tools to understand how Congress functions, and to empower them to be able to read news about Congress and get past the headlines and and editorializing to what really is occurring (e.g., symbolic action, horse-trading, etc.) At the end of the semester, student ratings were quite high. They seemed to enjoy the “realness” of the material.
