The Political Science Education Section seeks applications for an APSA-PSE Generalist Pedagogy Fellow. As a member of our first cohort of Pedagogy Fellows, the Generalist PSE Pedagogy Fellow will help the Political Science Education Section, working in collaboration with APSA, to launch a new Certificate in Research-Based Political Science Pedagogy program. This certificate program is designed to provide a high-quality professional development opportunity for political science faculty and graduate students, as well as for secondary social studies educators — especially those who teach AP and dual enrollment courses.
The Generalist will be responsible for developing materials that provide a broad overview of the best overall teaching practices in political science classrooms, covering a wide array of topics, including — but not limited to — syllabus development, curricular development, student engagement, post-pandemic trends, assessment, and ongoing professional development opportunities.
Specialized areas of relevant political science pedagogy will be covered by additional pedagogy fellows. See a full description of the certificate program here.
